This is where most of my creativity is going lately.
I am working to design and organize a village tech and design camp for the Gathering of Tribes 2024.
I don’t usually get this excited for things, but it's going to be epic.
The Gathering
The Gathering of Tribes is a “transformative event designed for the 21st century's regenerative ecosystem, bringing together companies, villages, communities, and DAOs”.
Groups create camps to energize their tribe, connect with the broader ecosystem, and contribute to the growth of the regenerative movement.
Every 2 years, Gathering of Tribes makes regenerators converge. This very special year, it will be hosted at The Garden, which is a community in Portugal.
GoT provides a space for individuals and organizations to come together, learn, and co-create a sustainable future.
The Inspiration Behind the Event
GoT knows that in-person events should be sublime collisions of creativity. In fact, that’s why GoT creator Victor Vorski, when asked about his “event”, reaffirms it instead as a gathering.
Gatherings are:
co-created
inclusive and immersive environments
catalysts for connection
Gathering of Tribes has its roots in community-building and blow-your-mind shared experiences. This will be the 3rd GoT.
We really can’t wait.
The Vision for the Camp
In collaboration with Smart Hoods, Under One Sky, and folks from regen media initiatives like The Loom, Terrenity is creating a camp focused on pop-up village design.
Originally we had separate camps, but we combined them #radicalcollaboration
Taking lots of inspiration from the pop-up village, network state, and coordi-nation movement, this is going to be treated like an autonomous nation.
Goals of the camp:
get all the village builders in one place
build an epic immersive environment
curate a transformative program of activities
run experiments with village and regenerative tech
partner with impact orgs
demo pop-up housing infrastructure
Physical Structures and Design
I want to build an entire world.
We will be using eco-friendly materials, modular construction, and interactive installations. When we are done, rather than all that work turning into nothing, the structures will be gifted to the Garden and surrounding regenerative village projects in Portugal.
That way, the gathering gives back more than it takes.
There will be a central lounge space / cuddle pit where the elixir bar serves adaptogenic drinks and nightly cacao.
We will be running several tech experiments — from plant sensors to climate data visualization. If you have a fun art or tech installation idea and you want to carry it out, the space is open.
One of the challenges we want to undertake is to be as self-sufficient as possible. An example is having our dancefloor made of Pavegen kinetic tiles, which generate energy when stepped on.
As long as we’re dancing, we’ll have music ;)
Camp Culture and Experience
Okay so, cool infrastructure built ✔️
Then we get to focus on our immersive experiences and multisensory journeys. We will curate a program for workshops, showcases, demos, altered states, immersive art experiences, and leave space for spontaneous activities.
This is also where we get to step into new personas, and express ourselves wildly through what we wear and what we imagine.
I think the best aesthetic guide comes from a party I hosted in Berlin called ‘Solarium’. It was an immersive escape room experience set in the utopian future where we were being invaded by cyber punks from an alternate dimension to steal our resources.
See the guide here.
The idea is to holistically embody all of our regenerative values. Everything from the way our program is structured to how we relate to each other to what footprint we have. “Green” festivals that generate trash are so backwards. Let’s go forwards and make a truly regenerative celebration.
With my Eternità project participating, there will also be longevity tools, a biohacking competition, and biohaptic devices for use.
Rather than drive-fast-crash-and-burn, we will go at an ecstatic pace that replenishes us quicker than it depletes us.

Here are other ways you can be part of this transformative experience and join the pop-up nation:
Additional bounties TBD, such as music wizard, mindful movement guide, etc.
If you want to partner or sponsor, drop a line to hello@terrenity.org and I will send you the full collaborator deck.
The excitement level is high, my friends.
A huge thanks to collaborators and readers for your support and enthusiasm. I hope to see you in Portugal in September, and many other places in the world.
One of my affiliated partners, Community Finders, run by Cynthia Tina, offers services for people seeking ecovillages or building ecovillages. I highly recommend you join one of her courses to uplevel your ecovillage journey.
Use the code TERRENITY for $100 off your ecovillage tour.
How does one join your camp ;-) ?
I was already pretty pumped for this, but you have managed to raise my excitement even further. I am especially happy to hear that what we build here will be gifted to nearby regenerative projects!
