This may be news to you, but Terrenity has been an organization since 2020.
The focus has always been on developing ways to support village builders and seekers with information and inspiration. From being a partner with GEN to merging some initiatives with the startup,
, to getting research funded through Blue Dot Project, Terrenity has been my baby for awhile. Now the baby’s got legs and she’s running, not crawling.
I want lay out the growth path of Terrenity, because I am, as always, inviting collaboration for other village builders to join the initiative.
The Literal Roadmap
I’m on the move again, with an itinerary of communities to visit, events to participate in, and new friends to make.
Here is the layout for the rest of the year. If you find yourself in any of these places, let me know so we can connect in person.
1. Colombia (late July to mid-August)
For reasons personal and professional, I’ll be traveling to Medellin, Santa Marta, and Sierra Nevada.
With Blue Dot Project we are visiting 2 indigenous groups that are wanting to expand their ecological reserve and build new communities of their own, with the regenerative practices they’ve held for thousands of years.
One of the many reasons I am humbled to work with a high integrity project like Blue Dot. They look to invest in high impact projects and incorporate sacred sites as one of the criteria for which land to prioritize.

Blue Dot Project just started a new substack,
. Go follow for regenerative investment insider info.2. California (mid August, end of November)
I announced that I was leaving Costa Rica to move to California, and I was going to go there directly. Then I had to rearrange my whole plan when I learned my 87-year-old grandma decided to travel here again (she’s absolutely where I get my travel bug from). Now I’ll only be popping by in August, while I prepare to move to Wild Seeds in November.
3. Nevada (end of August to early September)
Black Rock City, come find me.
4. Portugal for Gathering of Tribes + TDF (early September)
Stoked for the Villager Builders District, the camp I am leading at The Gathering of Tribes. Come for modern village building, tech installations, and an immersive experience.
I’ll end with a 3-day sejourn at Traditional Dream Factory.
5. Sardegna + Italy Villages Tour (2nd half of September)
I’ll be visiting the future site of Eternita, the longevity village I am designing in Sardinia. We have to meet the owners, walk the land, and create a formal basis for our partnership.
Then I intend to travel to Liminal Village and Damanhur, just to see more examples of communities.
6. Austin, Texas (Mid-October)
The Network Society Camp is running from October 9th-11th. Set in an actual American summer camp, we’ll be gathering to discuss the latest in decentralized government, networked societies, and coordination.
After that, I’ll be visiting my friend, the owner of the infamous Alpaca Playhouse. Yes, they actually have 3 alpacas there. And a sauna.
If you thought that was enough, I’m also traveling to Oregon and Japan for personal reasons, so the schedule for the rest of 2024 is a bit packed. 2025 I plan to be resting and nesting.
The Roadmap of Milestones
Looking for a few ways to expand Terrenity as a research syndicate, and I want bright and passionate village builders onto my team.
These are my goals for H2 2024-H1 2025, most of which are already on track:
July 2024 - Bring on talent to help with admin and research tasks. Currently interviewing 3 potentials, send me more.
July 2024 - Implement DisCO governance training within the organization
August 2024 - Incorporate as a Fair Shares Commons
September 2024 - Begin filming teaser for docuseries on communities with documentarian, Mario Cordona
October 2024 - Finish the villAGI bot V1 and share it under creative commons licensing
December 2024 - Fund The Village Mastermind in tandem with BIOM and re:build as a project accelerator with private investment of $86,000 for curriculum, material, and project development.
December 2024 - Publish final report from 6-month research with Blue Dot Project and share with participating projects
February-April 2025 - Secure $48,000 through public grants to power Terrenity and BIOM’s collective research to create advanced education for whole systems village design.
Spring 2025 - Begin site analysis with RHYZO on the Sardegna project
June 2025 - Finalize regenerative community certification program through Blue Dot.
My end goal with Terrenity is a campus of community creators and designers. The facilities would, of course, be nested inside an active community.
That will take years.
Despite being community-oriented, I have been a loner for most of my life, and precisely for this reason I am infatuated with community.
Even with all my experience, I still have so much to decondition from:
hyperindependence
avoiding others
feeling shy and unworthy to appear in front of a group
But as one human, I can only do so much, and I’m rather tired of doing things by myself. Plus, it’s time to take Terrenity to the next level.
This is the plan for the next year. If it excites you, reach out. Let’s make it happen together.
One of my affiliated partners, Community Finders, run by Cynthia Tina, offers services for people seeking ecovillages or building ecovillages. I highly recommend you join one of her courses to uplevel your ecovillage journey.

Wow! All of that seems so exciting. It's also surprising to us that you describe yourself as shy and avoiding people. Well, actually not so much, since we're too quite introverted. We need time to open up to new people and value having time for ourselves, and yet here we are, seeking community! As for your roadmap, thanks for sharing. We'll be at the Gathering and we're just looking into TDF! On what dates are you at TDF? Take care and keep up the great work, we are sure that Terrenity will be what you're planning for it and much much more 💜
Nicole, it's tough BEing the cutting edge of a movement that awaits momentum. What you do is invaluable. I don't think even 1% of the population is self-actualized and being the change they wish to see. That takes inner strength. I hope our worlds will come together soon. Social anxiety is a byproduct of a dysfunctional society and not a reflection of the amazing person you are. I, too, have some PTSD and anxiety coming out of 2020. Yet we carry on! Big hug!
