A Regenerative Renaissance is beginning to emerge. I was also called to write about the new regenerative community model, incorporating tools helping to develop our common unity connections. Check it out! https://lyrastarmist.substack.com/p/explore-the-realms-of-wonderland
This is an inspiring project! I am curious how it will explore philosophy and art as integral aspects of this vision. It seems helpful that readers get a sufficient introduction to the postmodern and regenerative theory underlying the framework, and art seems to play such an inspiring role in revealing the creative capacities within us to stretch our boundaries while working to live more sustainably and harmoniously.
Love your book idea, and your willingness to share it with the world.
I think timely piece of information would be a chapter around ecovillages adapting in the age of climate collapse. What does it look like? What things are considered? How do ecovillages fortify themselves and thier deep investment in place from the rolling extremes of climate change? What can other communities learn in this space?
Happy to go deeper into why I am suggesting this, if you are interested.
Amazing coincidence! Your edition of the GEN newsletter just landed in my inbox this morning and then I recognised your name & vibe on Substack Notes.
I was involved with GENOA as part of a ecovillage in Vanuatu between 2018 and 2022 and did a lot of thinking and writing about community dynamics as well. Here's a deep dive I wrote on the ecovillage experience a few years back: https://surrendernow.substack.com/p/succession-community-culture
Excited to follow along on this journey. I have wondered what a more modern approach to an eco village might look like!
Hopefully we can see systems that intentionally integrate those who want to and can work with the land for regenerative production.
Many examples I’ve seen so far seem to have failed as populations aged and didn’t make an effort to make access to the project/ land possible for anyone new. It’ll take lots of work intentionally creating structures accessible to everyone needed to help these communities succeed. If those with easy access to land/capital/credit can’t break bread and share the land with those systemically priced out of access to land these things will never be truly sustainable.
Oh, and I also love the metamodern paradigm :D Might find some useful inspiration there? It focuses on what you describe: understanding how to balance the modern with post modern. Picking out the best of both worlds with intentional reflection and creating something new.
These ideas have been rattling around in my brain for some time. Some aspects are:
- Focus on regeneritve food production and preservation
- Limiting reliance on the conventional economy
- Ongoing support for eco-restoration projects
- Continual education and skill building
- Development of place-based cultural and spiritual practices
- Outreach to the wider community to build relationships of mutual support

Amazing! What a journey! Happy to support in any way I can
Great idea! There is definitely a need for a book like this!

I'm just reading your posts sequentially now, do see you've touched on this. This information is so vital, and I'd love to read even deeper content.
Fantastic! You probably already know about this, but Starhawk’s book, “The Empowerment Manual” about governance and more might be a good inclusion.

My own social work viewpoint emphasizes the following:
-how to be inclusive (culturally, neurofriendly, people with disabilities, different back grounds)
-how to get the surrounding systems to understand the value of providing people with skills to be self sufficient (anti-capitalism)
-the importance of storytelling while visioning, building and perfecting new societal structures
-the importance of healing trauma and being trauma informed
-the possibilities of getting national funding and instructions (examples: China, Denmark)
Grateful for your passionate work! Keep going <3
